difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel cylinder tubes

Different advantages:

(1), 316 stainless steel tube (use for pneumatic cylinder) corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance can reach 1200-1300 degrees, can be used under harsh conditions.

(2) 304 stainless steel tube (use for pneumatic cylinder) can withstand high temperature of 800℃, has the characteristics of good processing performance and high toughness.

Different elements

(1)316: 316 stainless steel tube is a kind of austenitic stainless steel, due to the addition of Mo element, its corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are greatly improved.

(2)304: For 304 stainless steel tube, the Ni element in its composition is very important, which directly determines the corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel.

Different chemical composition

(1)316 stainless steel: C≤0.08, Si≤1, Mn≤2, P≤0.045, S≤0.030, Ni10.0~14.0, Cr16.0~18.0, Mo2.00-3.00.

(2)304 stainless steel: C: ≤0.08, Mn≤2.00, P≤0.045, S≤0.030, Si≤1.00, Cr18.0-20.0, Ni8.0-11.0.

The ID of the stainless steel cylinder tube represents the output force of the air cylinder. The piston rod should slide smoothly in the pneumatic cylinder, and the surface roughness of the pneumatic cylinder should reach ra0.8um. The inner surface of the stainless steel pipe column should be plated with hard chromium to reduce friction and wear and prevent corrosion. Pneumatic cylinder materials are made of high-strength aluminum alloy and brass, except for high-carbon ss steel pipes. This small cylinder (mini cylinder) is made of 304 or 316stainless steel. In a corrosion-resistant environment, steel cylinders (mini cylinder) using magnetic switches or steel cylinders should be made of stainless steel tube, aluminum tube or brass.
