Introduction to rodless pneumatic cylinders

Rodless pneumatic cylinder refers to a pneumatic cylinder that uses a piston to directly or indirectly connect an external actuator to make it follow the piston to achieve reciprocating motion. The biggest advantage of this type of cylinder is to save installation space, which is divided into magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder and mechanical rodless pneumatic cylinder.Rodless pneumatic cylinder can be used as an actuator in pneumatic systems. It can be used for opening and closing doors of automobiles, subways and CNC machine tools, mobile positioning of manipulator coordinates, parts transfer of centerless grinders, combined machine tool feeding device, automatic line feeding, cloth paper cutting and electrostatic spray painting and so on.

Features of Rodless Pneumatic Cylinders
1. Compared with the standard cylinder, the magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder has the following characteristics:
The overall installation size is small and the installation space is small, which saves about 44% of the installation space than the standard cylinder.
The magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder has the same piston area at both ends of the thrust and pull, so the thrust and pull values are equal, and it is easy to achieve intermediate positioning. When the piston speed is 250mm/s, the positioning accuracy can reach ±1.0mm.
The surface of the piston rod of the standard cylinder is prone to dust and rust, and the piston rod seal may absorb dust and impurities, causing leakage. However, the outer slider of the magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder will not have this situation, and will not cause external leakage.
Magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinders can produce extra long stroke specifications. The ratio of the inner diameter to the stroke of the standard cylinder generally does not exceed 1/15, while the ratio of the inner diameter to the stroke of the rodless cylinder can reach about 1/100, and the longest stroke that can be produced is within 3m. Meet the needs of long stroke applications.

2. Comparison of magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder and mechanical rodless pneumatic cylinder:
The magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder is small in size, with mounting threads and nuts at both ends, and can be installed directly on the equipment.
The magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder has a relatively small load and is suitable for working on small cylinder components or manipulators.
When the basic magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder moves back and forth, the slider may rotate, and a guide rod guide device must be added, or a magnetic rodles pneumatics cylinder with a guide rod must be selected.
There may be some leakage defects compared to mechanical rodless pneumatic cylinders. The magnetic rodless pneumatic cylinder has no leakage, and can be maintenance-free after installation and use.
