Pneumatic cylinder block crack inspection and repair method

In order to know the condition of the pneumatic cylinder block in time, it is generally necessary to use a hydraulic test to detect whether it has cracks. The actual method is to first connect the pneumatic cylinder cover (pneumatic cylinder kits) and the pneumatic cylinder body, and install the gasket, and then connect the water inlet pipe at the front end of the pneumatic cylinder block to the water outlet pipe joint of the hydraulic press. The required pressure is then injected into the pneumatic cylinder water jacket and maintained for five minutes after injection is complete.

During this period of time, if there are small water droplets on the surface of the pneumatic cylinder block, it means that there are cracks. In this case, repairs for cracks are required. So, what can actually be done to repair it? In general, there are three ways in total. One is the bonding method. This method is mainly suitable for the situation where the stress on the crack generating site is very small and the temperature is still within 100°C.

Usually, when using this method to repair the pneumatic cylinder block, the key selected bonding material is epoxy resin. This is because the bonding force of this material is very strong, it basically does not cause shrinkage, and the fatigue performance is relatively good. When using epoxy resin for bonding, it is very simple to operate. However, when the temperature rises and the impact force is relatively strong, it is recommended to use the welding repair method.

Once it is found that the pneumatic cylinder block has obvious cracks, the location is relatively stressed, and the temperature is above 100 °C, it is more suitable to use the welding repair method for maintenance. According to the welding repair method, the repaired pneumatic cylinder block may be of high quality.

In addition, there is another maintenance method called trapping method, which is more novel than the above two methods. Generally, a plugging agent is used to repair the cracks in the pneumatic cylinder block. In the maintenance of specific pneumatic cylinder block cracks, the appropriate maintenance method can be selected according to the actual damage status.
