Selection and classification of commonly used pneumatic cylinders

Pneumatic cylinder is a component used to achieve linear motion and work. Its structure and shape have many forms, and there are many classification methods. The commonly used ones are as follows:

① According to the direction of compressed air, it can be divided into single-acting pneumatic cylinder and double-acting pneumatic cylinder. The movement of the single-acting pneumatic cylinder in only one direction is driven by air pressure, and the reset of the piston depends on spring force or gravity; the back and forth of the piston in the double-acting pneumatic cylinder is all completed by compressed air.
② According to the structural characteristics, it can be divided into piston pneumatic cylinder, vane pneumatic cylinder, film pneumatic cylinder, gas-liquid damping pneumatic cylinder, etc.
③ According to the installation method, it can be divided into lug type pneumatic cylinder, flange type pneumatic cylinder, pivot pin type pneumatic cylinder and flange type pneumatic cylinder.
④ According to the function of the pneumatic cylinder, it can be divided into ordinary pneumatic cylinder and special pneumatic cylinder. Ordinary pneumatic cylinders mainly refer to piston-type single-acting pneumatic cylinders and double-acting pneumatic cylinders; special pneumatic cylinders include gas-liquid damping pneumatic cylinders, film pneumatic cylinders, impact pneumatic cylinders, booster pneumatic cylinders, stepping pneumatic cylinders, and rotary pneumatic cylinders.

Divided by pneumatic cylinder diameter: miniature pneumatic cylinder, small pneumatic cylinder, medium pneumatic cylinder, large pneumatic cylinder.
According to the buffer form: no buffer pneumatic cylinder, pad buffer pneumatic cylinder, air buffer pneumatic cylinder.
By size: space-saving type, standard type

Pneumatic cylinder selection:
1. Determine the pneumatic cylinder diameter – according to the load
2. Determine the itinerary – according to the range of motion
3. Determine the installation method
4. Determine the magnetic switch, etc.
5. Determine the buffer form
6. Determine other accessories
