The function of compact pneumatic cylinder

Compact pneumatic cylinder, it is a kind of pneumatic cylinder, and it is a common and commonly used type, which can be seen in some industries and fields. The function of this kind of pneumatic cylinder is similar to that of ordinary pneumatic cylinders. It converts compressed air pressure into mechanical energy, and then drives the mechanism to perform linear reciprocating, swinging and rotating movements.

The compact pneumatic cylinder has five parts:pneumatic cylinder barrel, end cover, piston, piston rod and seal, and all of them are important parts, all of which are indispensable.

1. pneumatic cylinder barral

The inner diameter of the pneumatic cylinder represents the size of the output force of the pneumatic cylinder. The piston should slide back and forth smoothly in the pneumatic cylinder, and the surface roughness of the inner surface of the pneumatic cylinder should reach Ra0.8um. For steel pneumatic cylinders, the inner surface should also be plated with hard chromium to reduce frictional resistance and wear, and to prevent corrosion. In addition to high-carbon steel pipes, high-strength aluminum alloy and brass are used as pneumatic cylinder material. There are stainless steel tubes for small pneumatic cylinders. For pneumatic cylinders with magnetic switches or pneumatic cylinders used in corrosion-resistant environments, the pneumatic cylinder barrel should be made of stainless steel, aluminum alloy or brass.

2. End cap

The end cover is provided with intake and exhaust ports, and some also have a buffer mechanism in the end cover. A sealing ring and a dust-proof ring are provided on the rod side end cover to prevent air leakage from the piston rod and prevent external dust from mixing into the pneumatic cylinder. There is a guide sleeve on the end cover of the rod side to improve the guiding precision of the pneumatic cylinder, bear a small amount of lateral load on the piston rod, reduce the bending amount of the piston rod when it is extended, and prolong the service life of the pneumatic cylinder. Guide sleeves are usually made of sintered oil-impregnated alloy, forward-leaning copper castings. In the past, malleable cast iron was often used for end caps. In order to reduce weight and prevent rust, aluminum alloy die-casting is often used, and brass materials are used for miniature pneumatic cylinders.

3. Piston

The piston is the stressed part in a thin pneumatic cylinder. In order to prevent the left and right cavities of the piston from blowing gas from each other, a piston sealing ring is provided. The wear ring on the piston can improve the guidance of the pneumatic cylinder, reduce the wear of the piston sealing ring, and reduce the frictional resistance. The wear-resistant ring is usually made of polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, cloth synthetic resin and other materials. The width of the piston is determined by the seal ring size and the necessary sliding part length. The sliding part is too short, it is easy to cause early wear. The material of the piston is usually aluminum alloy and cast iron, and the piston of the small pneumatic cylinder is made of brass.

4.Piston rod

The piston rod is the most important stressed part in the thin pneumatic cylinder. Usually high carbon steel is used, the surface is treated with hard chrome plating, or stainless steel is used to prevent corrosion and improve the wear resistance of the sealing ring.

5.Sealing ring

The seal of the part in the rotary or reciprocating motion is called the dynamic seal, and the seal of the stationary part is called the static seal.
